A few more projects..

Since I could not sleep last night and since I have a PILE of pictures on my desk just waiting to be scrapped, I went ahead and finished a layout and I even made a card for my mother for her birthday!

The layout was inspired by a sketch I found on Elle's Studio pinterest page.

Here it is if you'd like to take a look.
I changed it up a little. And it's not a 12x12, but an 8.5x11. I used the Pebbles Inc Family Ties collection (another collection I have PLENTY of!)
This is of my husband and son on the day Braden was born. I left the journaling spot empty so when my husband has a chance, he will be able to write in something for Braden.

This is a birthday card for my mom. Although I haven't done much of any crafting over the last few months, I was still receiving my monthly card kits from Simon Says Stamp. On this card I used the papers and stamps from the May 2013 kit.

I also added another picture of the card I entered into Pamela's World of Scrap sketch 237 challenge. The one I posted last night was taken last night, so it didn't turn out too well. I've not mastered the art of picture taking my projects yet, either. They always look better in person versus in the pictures.
So that's it for today! I'm going to try and work on some more projects.
Thanks for looking! Have a wonderful day :)

Sketch 237 challenge

I've been MIA from the scrapbooking/crafting world for the last few months. Between moving, many a migraines and a much anticipated surgery to rid me of those horrible migraines, I've finally returned!
I last left off with a sketch challenge from Pamela's World of Scrap and that is where I will pick up!
I decided to do a card for sketch 237c. Pamela also allows us to go through her amazing sketchbook and pick another sketch as a bonus entry. Since I am SO behind, I went ahead and picked out sketch 217a.
So here are my takes on the sketches..
And yes, I am down to the last minute!!

This layout was inspired by sketch 217, which can be found in Pamela's sketchbook.
I used Echo Park's This & That Charming collection. I have so much of this paper. I was in LOVE when they first came out with it. I try to buy up a lot of boy themed scrapbook supplies, but it's hard to find really cute paper and embellishments for boys. However, Echo Park did a GREAT job with this line.. I've also noticed here lately (since I've been back) that there are quite a few other boy themed lines that are adorable! ;)

I used Pebbles Inc. Family Ties on this card. The sentiment was from Jillibean Soup's Macho Nacho.

Thanks for looking! Hope everyone has a great Fourth!
Happy Birthday America!

Sketch challenge 226

So I started on this LO last week for Pamela Young's current sketch challenge. I don't know why, but for some reason I had the hardest time with the circles on the sketch. I didn't want to just use cut out circles, so I tried other things-  to no avail :(
However, a few days ago as I was looking at Betsy Veldman's blog (she's a very talented DT member for Papertrey Ink), she had posted a card using PTI's new die cut coverplate called "Circle Dies". Very, very cute and it gave me an idea for the circles on this sketch.
The title of my LO is, "Its Your Smile". My youngest son, Braden, has this incredible smile. and these pictures show it off so well! The journaling is actually behind the picture (it can be pulled out), it reads-
"There hasn't been a day to go by since you've been old enough to smile that I haven't seen your amazing smile. It's such a truly genuine smile. I love how your smile can show so much about your personality- so much of who you are. You are definitely one special boy, Braden. Keep on Smilin'"

To create the "circle diecut", I used a mason jar lid and traced the outside of the lid to create the large circles, then traced the inside of the lid to create the smaller circles. I cut out the smaller circles with my craft knife and the larger ones with scissors. It was actually quite easy considering I was expecting it to be a little difficult.

Supplies I used: Echo Park This and That Charming paper & stickers, Thickers, stamp from Simon Says Stamp card kit and twine.

Thanks for looking!

Brittany :)

Simon Says Stamp challenge

I made this card for the Simon Says Stamp challenge "Get In Shape". Which means to make a card that isn't square. I actually ended up using the SSS November card kit. I really wanted to use these papers.
I had my niece in mind when making this card, so I stamped a sentiment from an old Close to My Heart stamp set. The large heart is a stamp from the November card kit and the smaller heart is from Cosmo Cricket's Earth Love.
I have really enjoyed participating in the last few challenges I've entered, so I just would like to thank the wonderful ladies who put these challenges together. Thank You!! Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the week!

Another challenge!

As I've been hopping around blogs today, I've come across a couple challenges I decided to enter. It's really just giving me more reasons to use all the old papers I have! I mean, how else can I convince my husband that I NEED more supplies?! He sees everything I have and to a man, he sees enough paper to last a lifetime! I just don't see it though!! :D
..Do we ever really have enough paper, embellishments, stamps and stickers?!
Anyway, moving on to the challenge I am entering. It's a sketch challenge from Pamela over at Pamela's World of Scraps. Sketch 225 is the one I used. Supplies I used are, Cosmo Crickets "Garden Variety" (on both layouts). One is of my niece and her strawberry colored hair and the other of my daughter at the fair. I changed up the sketch a little, too.
Once again, the picture isn't all that great. Not only am I taking them at night, but I am having to use a camera phone. Boo :(

Verve blog hop!!

I've never actually bought any  "Verve" stamps but have visited their website and blog many times. Their stamps are beautiful and their DT is absolutely amazing! They started their November release yesterday, Oct. 30. The DT is showing previews of each set and I highly suggest to check out each blog. So much inspiration! They're also giving away some stamp sets, so leave a comment on each blog by Nov.2!! I will definitely be buying one of their new sets! Merry and Bright is my fav so far! And speaking of buying, I need to go over to Simon Says Stamp to purchase their Christmas card kit before it sells out! Their kits are great, btw! I currently subscribe to their monthly card kits and I am in love with Kristina Werners' stamps!
Anyway! Sorry to ramble but I guess I just have stamps on the brain!
I also have posted a couple more pics of the card I made for the SSS "Autumn Leaves" challenge.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Simon Says Stamp challenge

First challenge I've done in a while, but since I'm constantly looking for a reason to use some of my older scrap supplies I thought I'd try out this weeks Simon Says Stamp challenge. However I just kept being pulled to my newer papers. Specifically, Simple Stories' "Harvest Lane". I love the colors in this line and the little flash cards are perfect for cards! I put this together this evening so the picture is not good at all. I will have to take another again in the morning but for now, here is my card :)
